Nessie Slyker

Nessie believes that movement is magic, especially when done in community. with a background in synchronized figure skating, contemporary dance, and singing, they bring passion, rigor, discipline and play to their movement practice. Nessie’s embodied research lives inside of contact improvisation, singing Jazz music, weightlifting and being an observer of the world. during the winter Nessie coaches figure skating independently, holding a US Figure Skating Coaching Certification. they are a USFS single gold medalist, a Holy Fire Reiki 1 certified practitioner, and an NCSF Certified Personal Trainer. Nessie holds a Level 2 Craniosacral Therapy Certification from Maha Rose Brooklyn and a B.A. in Dance from Oberlin College. 

Nessie loves to read, write, play live music, make dances and ride trains in their free time.
